KANSAS CITY, Mo. – (Bracket) The 2009 National Championship Opening Round is in the books. The 16 Opening Round winners will advance to the National Championship final site in Decatur, Ala., from Nov. 30 – Dec. 5.

The winning schools are: Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), Southern Nazarene (Okla.), Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.), Vanguard (Calif.), William Carey (Miss.), Graceland (Iowa), Indiana Wesleyan, Azusa Pacific (Calif.), California Baptist, Auburn Montgomery (Ala.), McKendree (Ill.), Concordia (Ore.), Martin Methodist (Tenn.), Northwood (Fla.), Trinity Christian (Ill.), and Lee (Tenn.).

The No. 1-seed Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (18-2-2) advances after defeating Missouri Baptist (12-8-1), 2-0. It is the fourth consecutive year that the Blue Raiders have won their first round game.

Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) (13-4-3) is the only un-seeded team to advance to the final site after knocking off ninth-seeded Simon Fraser (B.C.), 1-0, in double-overtime. The Sea Lions' Jennifer Tan headed in the game-winning goal in the 103rd minute of the match.

Ten teams made their first appearance in the National Championships, with eighth-seeded Vanguard (Calif.) (13-1-6) being the only rookie team to come away with a victory. The Lions defeated California State-San Marcos (9-5-5), 1-0, to advance to Decatur.

The National Championship in Decatur, Ala. will feature 15 games from Nov. 30 – Dec. 5 at the Jack Allen Recreation Complex. There will be four games each on Nov. 30 – Dec. 2. After an off-day on Dec. 3, the semifinals will take place on Dec. 4. The National Championship game will be played on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. CST.
